The Merrithew MPX sits in a sweet spot that's hard to find — genuine commercial-grade build quality in a frame designed to store upright when you're done. If you're working with an urban condo, a multi-use room, or a boutique studio where floor space is a constraint, the MPX gives you full Merrithew performance without demanding a permanent footprint.

This is the same engineering and component quality that Merrithew puts into their larger commercial reformers. The carriage rides on patented C-channel aluminum rails with a rolling mechanism built for a smooth, friction-free glide that holds up under high-frequency daily use. Five enhanced springs — four at 100% and one at 50% resistance — are manufactured to withstand the repeated impact of jumpboard and Cardio-Tramp rebounder work. Neoprene spring covers keep noise down during sessions.

Adjustability is dialed in across every touchpoint. Six carriage stopper positions, four footbar positions that drop into cradles for quick changes, three gearbar positions, and three headrest positions. The Comfort Footbar is easier on sensitive hands and feet during long sessions and jumpboard work. Traditional rope system and gearbar keep the operation straightforward — no learning curve if you're coming from another Merrithew or commercial reformer.

The wooden standing platform and pommel-style shoulder rests handle a wide range of body weights up to the 250 lb capacity. Ideally suited for practitioners 5'0" to 6'2" in height. Dense EVA foam and durable vinyl upholstery provide the stable, proprioceptive feedback that separates commercial-grade equipment from consumer-grade alternatives.

Two things worth knowing before you buy. The shoulder rests are fixed and non-removable — which is fine for most programming but worth noting if you prefer a clear carriage surface for certain exercises. And the MPX cannot be upgraded with a Vertical Frame or stacked, so if tower work or multi-unit stacking is in your future plans, the V2 Max is the better long-term play.

Vertical storage requires 97.5 inches of ceiling clearance. Standing platform exercises with arms overhead need 98.5 inches minimum based on a 5'8" practitioner.
