Balanced Body CenterLine Reformer

If your practice lives in the classical tradition, the CenterLine is the Balanced Body reformer that was built specifically for you. Co-created with Amy Taylor Alpers and Rachel Taylor Segel of The Pilates Center in Boulder — two of the most respected names in classical Pilates — and tested for two years before it went to production. This isn't a marketing collaboration. It's a reformer shaped by decades of teaching lineage.

The CenterLine is intentionally closer to original apparatus dimensions — 2 inches shorter and 1 inch narrower than Balanced Body's other wood reformers. That's a deliberate choice, not a compromise. The tighter frame creates the carriage feel, resistance feedback, and end-of-track response that classical practitioners and instructors specifically train for. If you've felt like modern reformers have drifted too far from the original experience, this is the course correction.

Four unplaited semi-heavy springs deliver the deliberate, consistent resistance that classical work demands — no color-coded light-medium-heavy guessing. The two-position footbar keeps transitions clean and fast. Shoulder blocks are stable and comfortable for long sessions. Every contact point — hands, shoulders, feet — has been refined for feel, not just function.

Leather straps and wood handles come standard. On every other Balanced Body reformer, those are an upgrade. Here, they're included because the classical experience requires them. Cotton footstrap and extender straps are also in the box.

The bundle includes a sitting box with handles on three sides and extra foam padding on all surfaces, gondola pole, short box dowel, and two kneeling pads. Pre-installed jumpboard bracket is ready if you want to add that down the line. The frame comes pre-drilled for storage bracket hooks to keep your gondola pole and dowel off the floor and accessible.

Premium vinyl upholstery over durable foam padding holds up under daily use. At 145 lbs, it's one of the lighter wood reformers on the market — manageable for repositioning but solid during use. Balanced Body also includes access to select free streaming videos with purchase.
